humans as conduits for extraordinary things.

iPhone photo of a painting i finished over the weekend.
inspired by my 'blue dot' painting.
which therapist dude purchased from me.
my paintings always are inspired by color.

i believe i have clear vision.
with respect to my art, anyway.
definitely not with respect to the rest of my trainwreck of a life.
it wasn't always that way.
it's hard to stand up for yourself.
for what you create.
you have to be strong in who you are.
i am growing as an artist.
evolving.
i look at some of my earlier paintings and some of my newest work.
i see improvement.
i am growing.
find out what you are TRULY capable of.
stay true to who you are.
i posted a side view of 3 boats a week or so ago.
here's a front on view.
i personally love this piece.
when you look at it from different angles, it changes.
it must be viewed from a distance.
it must be viewed with the right light.
in order to catch all the nuance.
this is the first painting i did after moving into the house.
the second one i did is posted above.
a third is currently on my easel.

I almost didn't leave a comment- somehow I don't feel worthy of saying much. I see you as having prevented a train wreck in your life. Had you stayed in Reno and had to dwell where you hated living, that could have been the very train wreck. It has not been smooth sailing, but it is a fallacy we are indoctrinated with as we grow up. Life is hard... it sucks at times.... you were able to divert the wreck and keep your boys focusing forward. This is strength... fortitude... and I am jealous, being an artist.

I suck at art..... I don't know what I am good at. I don't see anything that I excel at. To know what you really want to do and have the capacity to do it- wonderful!

Keep on rocking.... painting and being.

Oh Kimberley
I just see the raw emotion in your paintings and the skills behind those brush strokes. I am so glad that you are painting. Your 3 boats, simply my favourite work of yours todate. I think you were born to create "water rockin'" type paintings. Paint more boats.. Great job. Glad that you are moving on. Let the wreck moments slide over your soul like warm caramel and stand tall. U are doing a great job .

Am happy. I know my dad gets his therapy from his paintings. All the shit he holds in and doesn't realize gets dealt with in certain works.

what I dig the most is texture. Something about the texture of paint brings a painting to life. Makes it want to be touched and physically felt not just in the soul.

I can see the texture even in the pics. I dig on this very much.

I know it doesn't feel like it most days but you are moving forward and forging a new path.
Keep taking those baby steps, K.
